Team Malaysia 2024 Open Tryouts

For Team Malaysia candidates who want to improve their chances of being selected for the Final Selections, they may choose to compete in the Open Tryouts held virtually on the 21st and 22nd of October 2023.

Dates: 21 - 22 October 2023 

Format: WSDC (without reply speeches) 

Platform: Zoom + Discord 

Registration Fee: RM 120/person

Registration Deadline: 17 October 2023

Candidates will compete as individuals in 4 preliminary rounds and 2 elimination rounds. There will be no matter test, and individual feedback will be provided. The number of qualifying candidates from the Open Tryouts are not pre-determined, and will depend on the decision of the Selections Committee. 

The Open Tryouts has been created to allow candidates with limited accomplishments and tournament experience to showcase their debating abilities, and earn a spot in the Final Selections. 

Team Malaysia candidates who are not certain of their chances of qualifying through the online application process may also compete in the Open Tryouts to secure their position in the Final Selections.
